5 Stars! “These five fabulous Triple Aces Ranch romances contain strong protagonists struggling with issues while falling in love. Karen "the wonderful writing wizard" Wiesner provides her fans with a terrific Texas anthology.” ~Harriet Klausner
5 Stars! “Cowboy Fever Series shows a fascinating glimpse of life and love in Fever, Texas where emotions run as deep as the code of the west does. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see who catches cowboy fever next!” ~Linda’s Reviews
4 Stars! “Cowboy Fever Series is a complete collection of stories suited for everyone. They will break your heart, make you fall in love, cry and laugh. They will make you face the insecurities and harsh realities of life. These are not light-hearted reads. They may evoke deep-down hidden emotions we try to ignore in our daily lives. Still, you should read these at least once. You will not regret it.” ~Coffee Time Romance & More
4 Stars! “This is an enjoyable, satisfying compilation that focuses on love relationships in the rural Texas panhandle town of Fever and, in particular, on the handsome male co-owners of Triple Aces Ranch. Each of these gems is a quick, satisfying read and Wiesner keeps things interesting by varying the plots and character motivations while building a community of memorable heroes and heroines that pop up in each other's stories. This series is a fine way to get your western romance on.” ~The Romance Reviews
“Wiesner packs each book in this series with characters who share intense and strained relationships—a variable that makes their romance stories that much sweeter in the end. This collection is great for whiling away a relaxing weekend.” ~RT Book Reviews
Wings of Love, Book 1
5 Stars! “Wiesner has written this story in such a way that I sympathize with both of main characters' plights. This is what I call a “feel good” story. The secondary characters are from the neighboring ranches. In this story, there are glimpses into the lives of those neighbors. Amanda fits right in with everyone in Fever. I have already come to care for Maggie May and her small son. I could almost hear her Southern twang. If this is a taste of what is to come, than I look forward to the rest of the stories in this series. I am left with a warm feeling and the belief that miracles are possible.” ~Huntress Reviews
5 Stars! “I loved Wings of Love, the first book in this series. "Wings" Mackenzie kept falling for the wrong woman. He was about to give up when he met the redhead who rocked his world. Amanda Grant wasn't a typical rich socialite. She was always finding ways to help those less fortunate than her. Unfortunately the men she chose always seemed to have selfish agendas for wooing her instead of love as their motivation. I really wanted to see these two lost, beautiful souls find happiness together, and I wasn't disappointed at the end, which made my heart flutter!" ~Linda's Reviews
5 Stars! "RELUCTANT HEARTS is an atypical love story because of the attitude of the male lead character. Readers will have to wait a while to know whether Paul admits to Wendy he loves her, as Karen Wiesner concentrates on relationships that place Wendy in the center as the hub. The story starts slow in order for the audience to appreciate the cast, but those readers who are as patient as Wendy will happily find a tremendous drama that provides the saga over the years of a strong female and the Wounded Warrior she loves." ~Harriet Klausner
4 1/2 Stars! “This story--just in time for the holidays--is a true gift. The Christmas story will warm your heart and you’ll be looking forward to all the holiday cheer, family, friends, love and celebration. These stories offer a beautiful mixture of romance, fun, inspiration, love and miracles. Wiesner’s Wings of Love is cowboy all the way when Mac Mackenzie falls in love for the third time with the same interior designer who’s fixing up his ranch.” ~RT Book Reviews
4 Books! “How do you know it is Christmas time? Is it the smell of your tree, the eggnog, mistletoe or holly? This story is based on a Christmas theme, but the characters here find love. The author does a very good job of describing the scene the story is set in. The story is short but reads well and has enough detail to flesh the story out. Wings of Love was a fun read. Take a cowboy who works construction and mix him with an interior decorator and then add true love. Watching these two misunderstand each other will make you laugh and comment out loud. This story doesn’t disappoint. Why not pick up a copy for yourself and read it by fire while drinking hot chocolate (or maybe a bit of eggnog)? You won't regret it!” ~Long and Short Romance Reviews
4 Stars! “A quaint romantic Christmas story all about miracles. A man in love is determined to take it slow whilst the woman he loves is waiting impatiently for him to declare his love resulting in a magical Christmas where all parties involved get the one thing they wish for most. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I was rooting for the guy to get their girl. This little book is the perfect thing for a quiet Christmas. It brought joy to my heart and a smile to my face. It really speaks to the magic of Christmas. The general theme was that real love will flourish if given a chance and with Christmas being all about love, I find it the perfect Christmas gem.” ~Readers' Favorite
4 Stars! “I like Wings. I like his loyalty, views and commitments. I understand where he is coming from, so I can easily relate to him.” ~Coffee Time Romance & More
4 Stars! “This is a very sweet story of love and the fear to love. The journey that Amanda and Wings take to come to terms with their pasts comes through well. I felt their conflicting emotions and confusion on how to interpret each other’s words. I was surprised that I got to know the main characters so well and got as invested as I did in the outcome for the length of the story. I recommend this to anyone of all ages who like cowboys and sweet love.” ~Darker Passions Reviews
“Wings of Love is a heartwarming holiday story with an incredibly sweet ending that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series.” ~The Readers Round Table
“This was a neat short novella with sentiment from the past, sadness, long lost love, with a feel of a throwback relationship. I loved the secondary characters, especially Mama May, Maggie May, and Shell. They made this novella three-dimensional. Mac was a sweet character, with a lot of love, and compassion, but he had put the horse before the carriage one too many times before in his relationships, so he was being overly careful. Amanda was a strong-willed woman, with a lovely grace and spark about her. She was a looking for the right man but was tired of always ending up with the wrong man and wasn't going to tolerate anything less than 100%. This time she wanted the words or nothing at all. The characters were endearing, and I grew fond of them.” ~A Bookish Escape Blog
"Exciting. An enjoyable Christmas Gem contributing a warm family drama starring fully developed protagonists.” ~Mainstream Fiction Blog
Losses and Gains, Book 2
5 Stars and Reviewer's Top Pick! “Losses and Gains is so much more than a romance novel. It is a story of love, resentment, sibling rivalry and second chances. I was immediately drawn into the story and into the characters' lives! Janaya is such a lovable main character and one that can be related to on so many levels. I found myself empathizing with her on so many different occasions and also cheering her on in the middle of making decisions. The relationships, interactions and conversations between the characters are well-written and credible. The scene where Janaya and her mother really talk was well-done and is a turning point for them both. This is a great, quick read that will keep you turning the pages and enjoying life on the ranch!” ~Readers' Favorite 5 Stars! “In Losses and Gains, Janaya Gaines left her hometown when her selfish sister set her sights on the very man Janaya loved. Years later, Janaya returns from Nashville after her sister and nephew die in a fire, and Lance feels betrayed even as he comes to realize he never stopped loving Janaya. When someone you love dies, it's hard to see anything bad about that person. Lance was no exception, but I really liked that he possessed something above and beyond that made him such a hero." ~Linda's Reviews
4 Stars! “A heart-breaking story that tells us about the consequences of selfish actions, of avoiding standing up for what one believes in and of how hate makes you forget all the good. If both Lance and Janaya have been wronged, they also show how God works in mysterious ways.” ~Coffee Time Romance & More 4 Stars! “Janaya was a great character, loving and kind to everyone. I really enjoyed this novella. A few of the characters are misunderstood, and their dramas were each played out with interesting storytelling on the part of Ms. Wiesner. I liked the idea that each of the novellas are about the same small town in Fever, Texas, and that all of the characters encountered in the novellas each have their own story yet they are all intertwined.” ~A Bookish Escape Blog
4 Stars! “The reader will get to know a lot about Janaya and her life, and how it had disappointed her so much. I found this to be a love story that grows out of desperation and hurt from a great loss. Lance has to leave the hurt inside him and let love grow instead. Janaya acts as his hope later and readers can gain a lot from reading it.” ~Love Romance Passion
4 Stars! “As the story unfolds, it hooks you in and makes you continue reading and feel the characters’ pain. You can sense that they truly loved each other but their choices made them who they were. I truly knew that these two characters were meant to be together from the beginning. I will anxiously wait to read book three later this fall. Enjoy this short read of a true love gone wrong.” ~The Romance Reviews
4 Stars! “In this story, both main characters have lost those dearest to them. I am eager for the next episode and plan to begin reading it immediately.” ~Huntress Reviews
For Always, Book 3
5 Stars and Reviewer's Top Pick! “For Always is filled with characters who will tug at your heartstrings and have you cheering them on to finding happiness. It was so easy to get pulled into their lives! Wiesner's style of writing is so easy to read and time flies as you become immersed in the story.” ~Readers' Favorite
5 Stars! “The author tackles a situation of which most authors would not dare – physical and emotional abuse. Alana has a friend in town (who also used to live in Fever, Texas), Karla. Though only a secondary character in this story, she is vital to the plot. She will also have her own story told later in this series.” ~Huntress Reviews
5 Stars! “In For Always, I was so caught up in the drama before I realized that this abuse happens to women every day! All of her life Alana Hamilton thought she wasn't good enough until a woman rescued her and showed her love existed. In her new home on a ranch, she meets Jared, and she fell a little more in love with him every day that passed after that. But Jared had never been the sort of man to talk about his feelings. He would learn to regret that when another man married and took her away. But when that man proves to be anything but a hero, Jared rides to her rescue. I hated that Alana was beaten on, but it's a fact that too many women endure. I rooted for Alana when she finally took control of her life back." ~Linda's Reviews
4 1/2 Stars! “The cast of characters were well rounded and likeable, except Holt (intentionally) which will make you want to belt him! Ms. Wiesner does a great job with her prose and descriptions, and she made it all believable for me. The characters showed growth. There were tough, life lessons to overcome, friendship, betrayal, and loyalty all wrapped up into a neat package. I give For Always 4.5 Lost, Lonely, Deceptive, Life Changing, Romantically Longing Stars!” ~A Bookish Escape
4 Stars! “This story is a must read to know the classic signs of domestic abuse and to learn what is unacceptable and when to take a stand.” ~Coffee Time Romance & More
Taming April, Book 4
5 Stars and Reviewer's Favorite! “The development of the characters came naturally with so many twists and turns. I loved this romantic, humorous novella. Wiesner makes it very enjoyable for the reader. The first part of the novella tore my heart out. I felt so many mixed emotions. This was a very quick read that will leave you smiling. I give Taming April 5 Emotionally Charged, Hot Cowboy, Fun Filled Stars!” ~A Bookish Escape
5 Stars! “My heart went out to April St. Clair in Taming April, Book 4. She grew up dirt poor in a trailer. When her mom died, and her dad didn't cope very well with being a single parent. She and her father had little in common, so after she left home after graduating high school top of her class, she rarely looked back. When she finds out her dad passed without ever telling her he was ill, she's shocked and devastated, especially when she learns he bought her the horse she always wanted growing up. The man taking care of the equine is none other than Shawn Jacobs, who flirted with her while they went to school together but ultimately humiliated her beyond bearing on graduation day. I laughed, cried, and cheered as April and Shawn went round and round, dealing with the past and coming to know each other for the amazing people they'd become as adults." ~Linda's Reviews
4 Stars! “Karen Wiesner brings to life the poverty-stricken upbringing April experienced after her mother died and her father all but stopped living himself. Painting a wonderful picture of April scrubbing floors, Wiesner does a fantastic job of illustrating this with colorful descriptions. The tension and embarrassment April still feels at the hands of high school tormentor Shawn Jacobs is palpable from the moment these two get within a few feet of one another. She is cold and he is cruel but they want each other so much that it drives them crazy, because neither of them wants to want the other. Rather than a tale of unrequited love, Taming April is a tale of reluctant love of two people from similar backgrounds who can’t stop envying the other long enough to realize they have more in common than they realize. This short story flies by, making you yearn for a longer build-up to the obvious tension between April and Shawn. Despite their flaws and pride, these are characters you care about and I would love to see this story turned into a full-length novel.” ~Readers' Favorite
4 Stars! “April is a wonderful role model. She went from rags to designer outfits. She worked hard as a teen and even more so as a young lady alone in the big city. She earned every cent. How could anyone not be impressed? Even a bit envious? There are several lessons in this terrific tale, but the main one I heard was to never judge someone until you have walked a mile in her high heeled shoes.” ~Huntress Reviews
4 Stars! “I am still bawling after reading this story. The author has brilliantly made us face the heart-breaking and bitter truths of life. What has me crying is the relationship between April and her dad—how children tend to be cruel and ignorant of parents in the race of success. Yet how much they still do for us with and without us knowing about it. An eye-opener indeed to our responsibilities toward our parents, no matter what they say to make us feel better. This is my favorite story from the whole collection. A must read.” ~Coffee Time Romance & More
The Only One, Book 5
5 Stars and Reviewer's Favorite! “Wiesner does a wonderful job making the reader connect with the devastation, torment, heart-wrenching sadness that encompasses these two characters. The reader is a part of the story in every way. Don't miss out on this wonderful series. A definite must for you TBR! I give this 5 Heartfelt, Emotionally Charged, Second Chance Love Stars.” ~A Bookish Escape
5 Stars! “In The Only One, Ken Abrams has been separated from his wife for five years. Karla walked out on him after they lost their unborn daughter. Both had been devastated at losing their child, but neither knew how to cope or talk about it. I found it amazing and admirable that this couple managed to remain faithful to each other for so long, despite that they were separated all that time." ~Linda's Reviews
4 Stars! “As you may have guessed, Karla is the friend [a.k.a. secondary character] to whom Alana turned to in the third story. This story is a wonderful way to conclude this omnibus. It is riveting and holds onto the reader’s attention whether she wants it to or not. For the readers who noticed that one other female character has not has her story told, do not fret. I can hardly wait for the next installment.” ~Huntress Reviews
4 Stars! “Okay, I am crying my eyes out again. This is my second favorite story from this collection. Their grief at losing their child and then each other is heartbreaking. I cannot imagine going through it. It is a universal fact that everyone grieves in their own way. Unable to accept the way the other grieves makes or breaks a relationship, as we see with Ken and Karla. This is a must read. Just be prepared to have your heart broken.” ~Coffee Time Romance & More
4 Stars! “There is no doubt that Karen Wiesner has mastered the art of storytelling. The Only One is a love story that is told in a gripping way. I got carried away while reading this novel because of the vivid depiction of the character's emotions. Two people who are still obviously in love with each other have separated and it looks as if there is no more chance that they get back together. Anyone who gets into the hearts of the couple will surely start hoping that they should stay together and this is where Karen Wiesner captures her readers. The story unfolds smoothly while it reveals the past and we start to understand why Karla and Ken behave the way they do. For the tomboyish Karla, the only girl in her family, Ken is the only person she fell in love with while Ken is also genuinely in love with her. This is just the stuff that romance novels are made of. This is also a story of how people cope with misfortune in various ways. Above all, the story reminds me that true love should conquer all.” ~Readers' Favorite
4 Stars! "As the story unfolds, it hooks you in and makes you continue reading and feel the characters' pain. You can sense that they truly loved each other but their choices made them who they were. I truly knew that these two characters were meant to be together from the beginning. I will anxiously wait to read book three later this fall. Enjoy this short read of a true love gone wrong." ~The Romance Reviews “The Only One dives into the story quickly and introduces us to Ken who has been ‘kidnapped’ by his wife’s brothers. Ken comes across as a real character, feeling the pain of separation, perhaps pending divorce. We feel more of his pain when he sees his wife working as a waitress in what appears to a sleazy bar. We’re also told that they lost a baby and as the story unfolds, begin to learn what happened from Karla’s viewpoint too. The dialogue is natural sounding and the setting perfect. If you’re looking for a quick read about a hot cowboy, this might be one for you.” ~Long and Short Reviews
DRIFTER’S HEART, Book 6
5+ Stars and Reviewer's Favorite! “DRIFTER’S HEART will steal your heart! This is a complicated, well-rounded story. It takes a very special writer to imbibe the sensitivity and expertise to rip at their reader’s soul and make them feel every bit of the sorrowful pain their characters endure. Wiesner has accomplished such a coveted gift, and she shares with her readers in this emotional ride of a lifetime. Don't miss out on this wonderful series, the compassion and overwhelming heartache, the tears that will stream down your face. Every aspect of the story makes for a wonderful, well-rounded, all-encompassing, heart-wrenching story that will warm the reader’s heart. If you haven't read this, it is a must on your TBR! Get your tissues ready for this all-encompassing tear jerker. I give it 5+ Heartfelt, Tender, Broken Promises, Life Changing, Second Chance at Life Stars." ~A Bookish Escape
5 Stars! “Maggie May never told anyone who the father of her baby was. Little Tex is a bundle of joy…other than the ADHD he may have inherited from his father’s side of the family. Ryder McCall was a drifter who’d worked on her father’s ranch temporarily before returning to the rodeo circuit. Five years later, Ryder’s working at the nearby ranch of Maggie’s friends. He’s going through stressful changes in his life. Beneath his gruff exterior, the truth is he never felt good enough for Maggie. Finding out they share a son only solidifies his belief. But little Tex breaks down every wall he built against getting involved. The growing affection and love between this troubled man and his little cowboy was deeply moving. My heart was warmed by Maggie and Ryder’s love story.” ~Linda's Reviews
5 Stars! “The sixth in the Cowboy Fever Series is a wonderful second chance ranch romance. The enjoyable storyline contains strong protagonists with the heroine knowing what she wants and the hero struggling between love and a dysfunctional childhood (due to his rodeo champion father). With the return of stars from the previous entries (see Cowboy Fever Series anthology for a delightful omnibus of the fab five) enhancing the readers visit to Texas ranch country, fans will relish Karen Wiesner's wonderful tale.” ~Harriet Klausner
5 Stars! “A keeper! Fever, Texas, is a wonderful place, and the townspeople and ranchers who populate Ms. Wiesner's Cowboy Fever Series are so real, even the most detached reader will find herself desperately turning the pages to see how the folks of Fever confront and solve very modern problems while still staying true to their old time western values, values like chastity, loyalty and honor. I admit to being a fan of all the books in the Cowboy Fever Series—the books are chock full of sexy cowboys; what's not to love?—but DRIFTER’S HEART is special. The reason: a four year old, whirling dervish named Tex. Maggie and Ryder's love story is passionate and heartwarming. A reader can't help but worry as they struggle to overcome the mistakes of their past and cheer as they strive to rise above them to build a life together for themselves and their son. The stronger, deeper and even more moving love in DRIFTER’S HEART, though, is Maggie's love for Tex. Ms. Wiesner draws an exquisite portrait of a child with ADHD and the heartbreaking decisions Maggie faces mirror those of all parents who discover the child they love literally can't sit still. Please don't miss DRIFTER’S HEART. Buy the book for the wonderful romance between Maggie May and her sexy cowboy. Keep it for Tex.” ~author Carrie S. Masek
4 Stars! “Karen Wiesner has created a wonderful town filled with all sorts of characters that I have come to love. The locals do not hesitate to help each other. Maggie and Tex are surrounded by people who care for them, even though Maggie never divulged the name of Tex's father. On the flip side, Maggie may be flat broke and have little to her name, but she is still quick to help others. Who could not fall in love with such a town? The characters have well developed backgrounds and I could easily envision the difficulties they faced. This story is full of love, romance, understanding ,and some life struggles. Wiesner writes with a compassion that pulls at the heart strings. You will not want to leave Fever, Texas.” ~Huntress Reviews
4 Stars! “Karen Wiesner has done it again, providing another exceptional piece of storytelling in my new favorite small town of Fever, Texas. Fever is filled with sexy cowboys, small town goodwill, and protective men—does it get any better than that? DRIFTER’S HEART allows us the privilege of watching Maggie become a strong woman unwilling to settle for less than she deserves and dreams of, while Ryder struggles against his impulse to live his life for others. It is a joy to go along for the bumpy ride through this ranching town and meet the colorful characters found within. Young Tex, the result of Maggie and Ryder’s night of passion, is adorable, precocious and struggling with his own problems, while Mac and Amanda (from Book 1) eagerly await the arrival of twins. Nothing is missing from DRIFTER’S HEART; it is packed full of emotions, drama, horses, meddling family members, and reliable friends. The only thing missing is a cowboy for me!” ~Readers' Favorite 4 Stars! “This sixth book in the Cowboy Fever Series will definitely satisfy readers’ expectations. Wiesner successfully blends current and relevant real-life issues with hot romance in this very pleasant story about two lovers who manage to find their way back to one another. Fans of the series will continue to enjoy the light and comforting down-home country tone and setting of Fever, Texas.” ~RT Book Reviews
"A realistic love story that was a pleasure to read a story with characters that could easily be someone I know, ordinary and real. Supporting characters add much to the tale as does the Texas scenery. If you like real-life love stories, DRIFTER’S HEART is a lovely book and completely worth your time.” ~BTSemag
